Waiting for the world to change.....

Well if it can go wrong, then today it probably has. The longer the day goes on, the more problems and work I get dumped into my lap. I have had three radiant "emergencies" today, two of them have been problems with parts being nonconforming. I am still trying to catch up on my radiant backlog from when I was working on the server. And against my request, I.T. has informed April the server is back online at it's permanent location. So it took all of two minutes for her to get me changes to be made. And I still have my self review that I need to do. I leave Friday (the 26th) for Dallas, then return on the 1st. Then head out to Orlando on the 6th, and return on the 12th.

The only good part about all that travelling is that That friday I am in Orlando, Christina is flying out there and staying the weekend, and we are going to use our leftover extra tickets for Disney World.

Catching Up

Well, as of 1PM last Friday, teh web server is gone, and out of my grasp for awhile. Although not completely without incident though. I spent the last week working on it ever waking hour I had, and them making more waking hours to work on it. Including my weekends and holidays off. On thursday, I stayed up until 1AM working in it, and still got into work on friday morning on time. At 1, we were told it was offline and we celebrated. Then I asked my boss if I could take the rest of the afternoon off because I was up so late, and had worked on it so much. I wanted some sleep before I made a 4 hour drive to Ohio that evening. Well I practically had to BEG my boss to let me go home. And apparently once I did, she went around and complained to people that I wanted to go home and take a nap. That ungrateful .....

My weekend was interesting too.

Shawn and I went to Columbus, Ohio to visit our friend Matt for the weekend. We had a good time. While there, Sat. afternoon we went to Dayton to visit with our other friends Chris, Ryan, and Katie. While I Ryans house, I learned how fun Guitar Hero is!! It's AWSOME!!! They had to pull Ryan and I off the game to go to dinner.

Anywho, after all was done, Matt, Shawn, and I headed back to Columbus. When we got back to Matts (it's like an hour drive) we discovered my trucks rear tire was halfway flat. It was late and we decided to worry about it in the morning. Well turns out they got 4 inches of snow that night while we were sleeping. So we got to remove the tire in the snow, got it patched and put it back on.

So we go out to eat, and then Shawn and I head home. We had been on the road for awhile, and it had snowed from Columbus and all the way back home, so the roads weren't the greatest. We gotten onto 30 in Ohio, and right after the Bears won, I called Christina to let her know where we were and that we were going slow because it had snowed the whole way and the roads weren't the greatest. We were doing 60 in a 65 and were for some reason (can't quite remember why right now) on the inside lane. We came to a bridge and as soon as we got on, we hit a patch of ice. The rear of the truck swung out from behind to the right. We had done a complete 180 by the time we had gotten across the bridge. The truck then went through the median narrowly missing the guardrail for the bridge on our side of the road. I attempted to get the truck to face the direction we were sliding as we narrowly missed the guardrail for the bridge on the oncomming traffic lanes. We crossed the oncomming traffic lanes fairly in the direction we were sliding, and stopped facing down halfway down the large embankment on the other side. Fortulately for us, there was absolutaly no traffic on the oncomming lanes when we went across. A semi that was comming that direction pulled over, as well as an SUV, to make sure we were allright and had cell phones to call for help. And just then a tow truck pulled up.
So he came behind us and hooked up and pulled us out. I asked how much he wanted, and he said nothing, he was just driving by and offered to help. So since I had no cash, I borrowed $20 from shawn and gave it to him . So we got back on 30, had to do a u turn because when he pulled us out we were facing the wrong direction. I got to the next intersection and turned around to go the right way. Put the truck in 4WD and drive in 4WD the rest of the way back home.

An Apology

So I work on my website from work mostly. And because of that, I forget not eveyone has a 21" flat panel sitting in front of them. when I designed my website, I designed it to look good on my monitor, thinking "This will look great to everyone!" Well not everyone runs at a resolution of 1280x1024. So i was at home the other night, and for some reason I came to this website. At home my monitor is a 21" CRT, resolution at 1024x768. And low and behold I had to scroll left to right to see the entire website!

So for those of you who have everlong had to scroll tosee this website, I am sorry! but it is fixed now. Although I think it looks all squishy and retarded.

Boring

Well if you haven't noticed, i haven't been posting much lately. My life is for the most part pretty boring. I've been doing alot of work lately, and when I am not at work, i am thinking about work, ugh. On Friday Jan 5th, the new company website went live internally. Now I have a list of things to fix or change. But because of working on the website, I had been neglecting my radiant work for....oooh, say three weeks. So needless to say, I am fairly backed up. So the first part of this week is being spent doing nothing but radiant. Wednesday I go to South bend to meet with the trade show house and see how the new booth is comming along. We have ads that have to be met, and graphics that have to be done. On Jan 26th - Feb 1st I will be in Houston for one trade show, and then Feb 6th - Feb 11th I'll be in Orlando for another. And on Jan 29th, they want the website to go live on the internet. So all the bugs have to be worked out by then.
I think pretty soon I will be forced to work overtime to get everyhting that needs done, done....

Christmas Joy

I haven't been on here much because, well, I've been busy. Work eradicated the vacation I usually take between Christmas and New Years because they wanted to move up Inventory from Jan 2nd to Dec 26th. So I had to go to work, for ONE day of inventory. Most of the stock has been moved to our Eden, NC manufacturing facility, so there was pretty much nothing left here to count. So I worked inventory on Tuesday, and sat at my desk Wed. and Thurs. Well we (the company) are rolling out our new website this month (was supposed to be out on Aug 15th), and guess who somehow got caught in doing alot of the work and changes? ME! My boss got wind that I know a little HTML, so now she thinks I am a website God, and has me working on it 24/7 (because I am cheaper than the professional we pay to do it). I informed her, I was thinking about taking today and tomorrow off, since I didn't get my normal Christmas vacation (fortunately we can roll over vacation days). She started begging and pleading me not to, because there is so much work to do on the website. So here I am, working today, and tomorrow. Wonderful. She's happy to say the least. But I did work until almost 7:30 Thursday night.
