Reign of the 60's

The reign of the 60 degree weather has officially ended. Since last Thursday, every day has been in the 60's. Hell, even last night at 8PM, it was still 60. This morning it was 43, today's high. It's rainingm and they are calling for freezing rain. Tomorrow they are calling for 6-12 inches of snow. Wonderful! I can't even get the heat in my truck past luke warm....

Warm November

So since about last thursday, it's been above 60 here in the day, and a nice 50's in the evening. That all will change on wednesday, but I'm going to concern myself with that at the moment. On Black Friday, I was supposed to head downstate for a hunting trip with some friends, but the trip got cancelled, and we ended up not going. We took advantage of the excellent weather to put up the Christmas lights. Well we had decided last year was probably going to be the last year of the famous icicle lights, as we are really tired of untangeling them and then trying to find the broken or burnt out bulbs. In fact last year, instead of trying to fix them, we just bought new ones.

So this year we headed to Menards (a friend said they had alot of cool stuff, and they did). We decided to go premium and buy the newer style LED lights. No broken bulbs, no fading colors, lower electricity usage, and truer colors. All big pluses in my book. Problem is they are like 300% more expensive.

Get them home, get them on the roof, and get them all plugged in. And I had 5 sections of lights out. Now I had been up on the roof all day, and was quite pissed. So I started jiggeling and playing with all the lights. 4 of the sections had a loose bulb, when I touched it, they turned on. One section I still havent found the problem. But it's OK, it's on the back half behind the driveway.

Next problem, put the rest of the lights up last night on the fence and the bush in the front corner of the yard. The old regular colored lights. Yeah, compared to the new LED lightes, those really aren't that colorful.....but at $17.99/box, I'll wait until next year to replace them.

New Hotness

I always figured I would grow of the the car stereo phase of my life well before I was 30. Turns out that is not the case. The way I figure it, I'll be 89 years old thumping down the road in my grandpa car.

Old and Busted
After blowing up 4 Alphasonik PSW110's, I decided it was time to upgrade.
I had two of these originally. I blew them up within a week of each other.
I used the warranty and got new ones. Installed them about two weeks ago (went like three months without bass!!) blew the first one up the day after installation, and the second one 2 days later.

New Hotness
With the help of the experts and carsound.com, I ordered these little puppies; Elemental Designs 11kv.2. Installed them Wednesday night, and I love them! Much clearer and crisper sound than the Alphasonik's. Although they were at a preminum price, but worth it, and I don't expect these to blow...

Non-Updatable

Last week I tried to come up with a new graphic for this page, and redesign the layout and color scheme. But as I am not an artistic type person, that failed miserably. So the page remains the dull drab place it has always been.

Funny Things I've Heard Lately

Funny Things I've Heard Lately

#1)
My friend Shawn, his brother Mike and I went downstate to hunt this last weekend. About 12AM we were in a Wal-Mart in Terra Haute picking up some stuff. Mike had slept most of the trip and wasn't quite awake. We were standing in the checkout line and he says "Oh look! A little digital camera for your keychain," as he picks up a mini digital camera attached to a keychain. "I bet film for this is outrageous!"

#2)
On a message forum's general topic area, a guy was talking about the new bamboo wood floor he had gotten, here is a direct quote from his post:
I ordered a pallet of the stuff, and arranged to have it delivered to a local trucking company warehouse to save myself a couple hundred bucks on shipping costs. My house is not exactly what you would call semi-truck friendly.

When I got there, I filled out the paper work and backed my truck up to the dock. I was met by a 20 something kid with a Dale Earnhardt hat.

"So whatcha got there?" he asks.

"Bamboo floor."

"Bamboo huh? You mean like a bamboo pole?"

"Uh, yeah, only this is flat"

"Made in China", he says, noting the print on the cartons. "Seems like everything is made in China these days, nobody buys American anymore."

"Dude, it's Bamboo, where the fuck do you want me to get it from, Vermont?"

Restless Nights

Restless Nights

Insomnia
Well perhaps a variation of insomnia. It's not like I have the inability to sleep, but more like I can't sleep. I can't get comfortable enough to sleep. Have you seen the commercials on TV for "Restless Leg Syndrome?" Well I believe I have that, and it prohibits my ability to remain still for even short periods of time. But it doesn't happen all the time either, only once in awhile. And sometimes for days at a time. Between Sunday and Wednesday night, I could not lay still to save my life. I tossed and turned all night long. I got hardly any sleep. Even with the help of apsrin and sleeping pills. I would be so tired and my eyes would be so heavy that I couldn't keep them open. But yet I couldn't lay still long enough to fall asleep. It's a problem that's plagued me for most of my life. I have been comming home from work at 6 and be completely tired, yet no sleep.

Last night, however, was different. Last night I was dead beat tired at 6. I could barely keep my eyes open. I tried to fall asleep while watching TV, but to no avail. Went to bed about 9:45, and amazingly I fell right asleep. Admittatly, i took a handfull of asprin about 9 to try and calm my body. It seemed to work, this time.....

Halloween

Halloween

As you may or may not have noticed, I updated my "Pictures" links. I decided if I had all these pictures uploaded, I might as well share them! So there you go, have fun looking through my memories.

This was all stemmed though, because I uploaded my Halloween pictures!

This year we had our first total yard haunt! People walked completely around the house! You were first greated by the scarecrow on the tree by the road. Then you walked through the creeky gates and up the sidewalk, where you were invited to Brent & Christina's Dead Wedding. you walked up the aisle to get your candy, hoping one of our Goul Guests weren't going to jump out at you. After you got your candy, you were then shown the way past the graveyard, where the Grim Reaper stood, and met Dr. Shawn, the sick twisted autopsy Dr. who cooked and sold body parts. Then it was on to see Captain Bob Sparrow (Jack's drunken brother) and his skeleton crew. You then passed Somora from the movie "The Ring" while making sure the strobbing ghosts weren't going to get you. Once you walked past the spider web, you had to brave the dead tent, which was filled with fog and had a strobe light flashing. While you were dodging severed heads and body parts, you had to watch out for Tony the Reaper (who scared the HELL out of everyone who went into that tent. As you ran down the driveway in fear, you passed by Phill on the Grill, who was a guest who never made it out alive! Man was he yummay to eat!!
