Wasted Space
Wasted Space
This wesite mught be interesting if I ever had anything useful to say. But I do not, so therefore it is boring and only generally relates to stuff that I have done. No commentary on anyting, no nothing.
Speaking of commentary, I do have some. The new morning show on Q101, a local Chicago radio station. Q101 did not resign the 8 year running Mancow's Morning Madhouse, which is fine by me because I hated it. He does nothing but lie and make crap up, which thousands of gullable people believed. But all summer they touted about this new mornign show they were putting togeher. It was going to revolutionize the morning show industry, with the best talents from around the US. This morning was the first day of that show, so I listened to it. Basically what they did, was recreate Mancow's morning madhouse, except in an extremely dull and unexciting fashion. Not one time did I laugh or even crack a smile in my 35 minute drive to work. They tried to make jokes, but they weren't funny. And the voices they have are definately not made for radio. They just sound borning. I probably won't ever tune in again. I did send in a suggestion for a name of the shoe (they are having a contest): "The Worst Morning Show in History," or something similar, I can't actually remember right now. They already had recieved a review, which was written by a reporter after his drive into work this morning, and they read it on the air, without apparentlty prereading it first. One of the lines it said "The show is so bad it makes me want to vomit all over myself." OK, so I lied, I actually laughed at that.

Sept 11th.
Sept. 11th
As we rememebr today as one fo the biggest tragedies in American History, I hust wanted to share with you a heartwarming experience I had this weekend. Our town festival was this weekend, the Popcorn Fest. We always get up in the morning and go see the parade downtown. It was during the parade that you could hear it comming; people clapping cheering. I wondered what was going on as it got closer, then it came into view, it was the local National Guard marching down the street. As they passed people would stand up, clap and cheer. It made me all soft and teary-eyed seeing the support people gave. It seems unfortunate that it took a tragedy like Sept. 11th for people to actually stand up and cheer, rather than to just wave at them like I remember many years ago. And it was even more heartwarming because I know one of the National Guardsman who was marching.

Where were you on that day? I was at home, sleeping on the couch. I has spent a majority of the night in the hospital from some weird disease. My mom called me from work and told me to turn on the TV. I was horrified to see just as the second plane hit....

Alot Is Too Little
Alot Is Too Little
I know my blogs are far and few between, but my life isn't interesting enough to write about really.
Saturday we went to the Gary Air Show. This air show started small about 7 years ago, but has increasingly grown every year. This was my first year going though. And glad I did, it was a lot of fun. I love to see the little stunt planes and the things they can do. They also had parachuters that jumped a few times and did some things in the air. I have only parachuted once, and after that, I long to do it again. It was just so much fun! A couple of the F-117A Stealth fighters made an appearance. I was thrilled, for one to see it in flight, and two because my uncle helped design the engine for that plane. The highlight of the show was the U.S. Air Force's Thundercats! I guess it was their first appearance at the show, and it was spectacular to see them in person! I was so impressed and so amazed at the things they could do! Oh, and we totally forgot to take the camera! But I got some pictures on the cell phones, so I'll get them off and on here sometime.
Sunday we had our annual Labor Day Party. It amazes me how many people turn up for my parties. I was pleasantly surprised. And I think everyone had fun too, without incident. Well mostly. The volleyball net poles are now trash. One pole was broken in three places, and another was broken in two. By the end of the night, they were being held together by duct tape and pieces of conduit. Oh, and it was a black light volleyball setup as well, I came up with the idea last year, and implemented this year. I had a black light fixture on each corner, the lines were painted with a fluorescent orange, there was fluorescent orange tape on the net, and the volleyball was a glow in the dark volleyball. It was quite a hit, and a lot easier to play that with the big spotlights that we usually use. People played volleyball until about 2AM. And the last group of people left at 3:30.
