Fire heat
For some weird reason i jsut recently remembered that we had a fireplace in the living room. We used to use it about every weekend, at least one night (in the wintertime). But this year, we have hardly used it at all. Sunday morning I woke up and felt like starting up a fire. So I did. And I fed it all day. The furnance never kicked on one. In fact, the house was 4 degrees warmer than what the thermostat is set at. What the hell, the firewood was free, and there is plenty more where that came from. So we did it again last night. And we'll probably do it again tonight.

No Updating here..
So today I looked into updating my blog from MT 2.661 to MT 3.2. Well I was looking at it, and I was reading on how "simple" it would be, and realized it was well outta my reach. And I was still in the "Backing up your current files" section!
Then I was thinking how I don't rememebr how this version on MT was put on here. In fact I don't even think I did it. I think Laura did it for me. If not, then she told me exactly how to do it. And for that I am still eternally grateful!
But yeah, no changes.

New Office
Well, it's been almost two weeks, but I haven't said anything because I didn't want to without pictures. Unfortunately my website is FULL. I cannot load a single picture onto it anymore! So I have gone with the alternative flickr.
So I finally got my office in the marketing hallway! It's only been almost a year since I was told they wanted me to move. But I have a brand new remodeled office, new carpet, paint, ceiling, WINDOWS, desks, and drawers! Hurray!!
The sign I left at my old cubicle.

The new office from the front. And yes, I can see out the window, that brick wall is a good 12 feet away. There is grass and a sidewalk between me and it, and I can see the sky quite clearly!

From the back to the front.

I don't get it
So I went to the dentist yesterday out of the goodness of my heart. I didn't have any cavities, no pain, I just realized it had been over a year since I went and I should probably go. Well they took x-rays and all that jazz, and the dentist (Dr. Holm of course Lindsay)comes back and says: "Well, it could be worse. You have three relatively easy cavities, and one tooth that needs a root canal." I say: "WHAT??!! Nothing hurts, how could I need a root canal?!" To which he replied "Isn't it funny, how you think bad things should hurt, but they don't always?" Fortunately they are really busy, and I won't even get in until early next month. I don't get it. I brush my teeth every morning for at least 2 minutes, I use mouthwash pretty much every other day, and hell, i even floss more often than not. Grrr, I hate my teeth.

Am I getting old?
Does it mean you are getting old when you stop going to rock concerts, and start seeing comedians live?
We saw Larry the Cable guy a couple weeks ago. And thjis weekend, we made an quiick decision and saw Jeff Foxworty. And now we are making plans to go see George Carlin!!
Friday morning on my way to work, I was listening to a radio show and they were doing an Interview with Jeff Foxworthy, amd how he was going to be in Chicago Sat. evening.
Turns out WE were going to be in Chicago Sat. afternoon, for the International Motorcycle Show. It also turns out that Jeff Foxworthy was going to be at a theatre literally 1 block from the motorcycle show! So that was a no brainer!

On Call
Last week we here at work were given the word that our parent company was going to be keeping a very close watch on internet usage, hence the lack of submissions here lately. That and I just don't seem to think about getting on here from home.
I got my SunRocket equipment last thursday. I hooked it up, and it sounded like crap. Then I didn't have internet anymore, so I knew I did something wrong. I disconnected it, and decided to play with it another time. I triend again saturday, this time turning off the computers, router and cable modem first, and then restarting them one at a time. This time it all worked. The line sounds crystal clear. THe new phones that we got with it are a bit weird, but who's to complain, they're free! We'll play with this new phone service for a couple of weeks, then see about transfering our current Verizon number.

Rants
Rant #1)
Apparently I am halfway descent with computers, considering that I think everyone I know calls be with computer problems. Except for a select few, who call Matt. And matt is who I call when I am stumped. Currently I am working on my friend Shawn's computer at home. Yesterday Scott called me and I went to his house to work on his computer. Then Brian calls and wants my help too. (Sorry Brian, I would have tried to help more, but I was already fed up with fixing computers for the day, AND I was watching a movie. And since it wasn't an easy problem, I just kinda brushed you off). And then there's Kelly's and Russ' problems. I need to start charging by the half hour.
Rant #2)
IT'S WINTER! Where is the snow??? Where is the cold?? It's snowed twice this winter. Shortly after Thanksgiving, and that stayed for almost a month, melting right before Christmas. And two weekends ago, which I completely missed because I was in Muncie. The snow fell and melted before I got home. Those are the only two significant snowfalls (meaning more then a couple inches). And the temperature, although 50's isn't exactly that warm, it 's definately warmer than the usual January weather! GIMMIE COLD AND SNOW DAMNIT! Otherwise, just bring back summer.
