Phone agore

Yesterday I took the plunge to try out the new VoIP service with a company called SunRocket.
Our verizion phone service is costing us almost $50./month, and we hardly use it. This is a chance to try something new. And at $10/month for the basic service, whe's to complain? The equipment will hopefully arrive this week. We'll give it a try before we have our current number transferred to it. I'll keep you updated on what I think of it.

Shows upon stuff

Ugh.
That about sums everything up.

I came back from Muncie with two computers to reload and fix, and one of ,y friends across town is having major computer malfunctions, which I am supposed to look at too.

I went to Chicago monday for the ASHRAE trade show, jsut too look arounds and stuff. It was like an old company reunion, seeing all the people that used to work here. They are all much happier now.

I ended up comming into work at 6AM today to take care of some intranet stuff. Unfortunately I wasn't given the information until about 7. So that was a waste.

I am overloaded now, I'm not quite sure which way is up.

Friday Questions

Stolen from Laura who stole it from Megan.

1. If you have a full-time salary paid job and are expected to work at least 40 hours each week, many hours do you really work.. more or less?
I don't. I am hourly-Salary. I have to work 40 hours a week. Anything over is overtime, which has to be pre-approved. I have to make up my time if I don't want to use vacation time. I also get paid sick days.

2. Which way does your toilet paper roll? Forward or backward?Over the top would apparently be forward. It's the only way to "roll"

3. Whats your favorite candy? pick only one.
Laura is a Goddess and I totally agree with her! Runts. I was really sad whrn the candy maching downstairs was switched to Skittles.

4. What book are you reading right now?
I don't read. It bores me too much and I can't concentrate on it. I listen to audio books. Last night I jsut finished up Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I started today on The Da Vinci Code.

5. Are you jealous of anyone?
Who isn't?

6. Laundry…do you sort it into colors and groups or just throw whatever in?
I only sort out new clothes. I once they've been washed a few times, nothing bleeds anymore. All of ly laundry for a week is done in two loads.

7. What smelly candle is your favorite? Do you have one that you just don’t like one bit?
Smelly candles aren't my thing really.

8. What is your best feature?
Umm.....ok.

9. What are your plans for the weekend?
Going to Muncie and hanging out with friends. See previous entry.

Bad Moon Rising

I can't wait for work to end friday. I am heading straight back to Valpo to pick up a friend, and then we are going downstate to Muncie for the weekend. I know, Muncie blows monkey balls, but I'll be seeing a couple friends I haven't seen in awhile. Matt, who lives there, although he does work for me, and he was here over Christmas break. And Dave, who moved to Seattle late summer last year. He's back, for awhile anyways, then I hear he's going to Colorado or something. But I gotta get through today, and then tomorrow...

Dozing..

Last night on the news they had a special on sleeping pills, and how you can become addicted to them. The bit was focused on Ambien.

Didn't matter to me, I took my Sleepy Time pills and went to bed....

Office Space

I haven't been doing hardly any blogging lately, because I really haven't felt like it.

But I do this morning.

The Marketing hallway is finally done being remodeled after about 2 months of work. Everyone is back in their respective offices. Now I have been a part of Marketing for most of my time here, but never have been in the Marketing hallway, there was never enough room. I am stuck in an adjacent hallway in a little cubicle. One of the newly remodeled offices they have over there is now mine. Problem is, there isn't enough desk space for me. Yesterday, when the rest of the company was off, they were supposed to get and install the remainder of the desks (they are 3 piece wrap around). Well not to my surprise, I got in and it wasn't done. In fact, it looks like one of the two wrap-arounds didn't even come in. Ugh. I'll never get to move. This has been in anticipation for almost a year now.

UPDATE: I was right; one of the pieces didn't come in. It’s on backorder until Feb 2nd.
I cannot do my job in the space of one desk. I have two full desks in my office, put together in an "L" shape, and technically, it’s too small.

Rediculous

THIS is getting ridiculous. You would think that after failing to fall asleep until after 2:30 AM Sunday AND Monday night, that my body would JUST CRASH Tuesday night!
But NOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Sunday and Monday night my body just refused to shut down. I layed in bed tossing and turning. My mind rolling at a million miles a minute. The longer I stay away the madder I get at myself, and the more my mind works. It's kind of like a backwards repression. Both nights I got up, took a handful of Tylenol, drank a few shots of Jack, and walked around the block a couple times. None of that helped. Woke up each morning extremely tired. Drug through the day, but by evening, I was WIDE AWAKE again!

Last night wasn't too much different, but it was worse. Not only was I not tired again, my legs were restless. I truthfully can't remember the last time they were this bad. I couldn't walk around the block last night, it was raining. So I made a path between the foyer, living, dining, and kitchen. I walked for 35 minutes, then went and layed in bed. Didn't help, legs were still restless. Oh yeah, I finished off the Tylenol, and had quite a bit more Jack.

This story happens to me more often than not. It’s getting old, really old. I would like to have one whole week of normal sleep. I would like to be able to fall asleep within the human average of 7-10 minutes, instead of 30-45. My dad said to go in and have a sleep test done. A sleep test? Sleeping is not the problem! It's getting to sleep! Not to mention, these people don't understand I can lay awake for days on end. Hook a bunch of wires up to me, put me in a bed I've never slept in and a room I've never seen, and I won't sleep for at least three days! This is a proven fact. Whenever we go on vacation, the first two or three nights I don't sleep. I'll be awake for 72 hours or more. I'm not used to wherever it is that we are, and I can't sleep. I've been this way my whole life!

My family has tried to help. They have given me herbal and Asian remedies to take, scents that you spray on the pillow, and other things. Nothing has worked. Most medication that says "Caution, may make you drowsy" doesn't ever make me drowsy. Never has. I can (and have) taken Vicotin and drove 5 hours immediately afterwards. That stuff doesn't make me drowsy or loopy.

I think I need professional help. Tonight I am going to visit Walgreen's, and buy every night aid they have, and a bottle of Nyquil. Nyquil does the trick, but you have to drink like half the bottle for it to be effective.

Ugh Already

So this is the first time in over two weeks my work computer has been on. I came into work yesterday morning all happy and cheerfull that I was 10 minutes early, and not late as usual. I round the last corner to my desk, and there stands Dan Vassar, telling me that i am his auditor for physical inventory, and I was supposed to me at work at 6AM. Well come to find out that they gave these assignments out last tuesday, WHILE I WAS GONE! So I have no idea. So I stayed until 4:30 yesterday, and I was here at 6AM today. We are pretty much done. Well for today anyways. We'll find out about recounts tomorrow at 9AM.

So anywasys, I have pictures and stuff to put up, soon. Just not today. I got crap to do now that I am at my desk. Uggg.
