More truck
Tired of hearing about the truck and motorcycles yet? I hope not.
Met with the auto shop where the truck is at yesterday. Thursday I filled out a form allowing them to tear the truck down for furhter inspection. Between then and monday afternoon, they found another $1000 worth of damage. The total costs are up to $8800 damage to the truck. But it get's better. He was explaining to me how there was no major frame damage, just in front of the front tire. He was showing me what they would be doing to the truck. I pointed out that the bed looked wavy in the light. He got out a couple of spotlights and we looked at it. Yup, both sides all wavy. They hadn't caught that before. He sais he was going to wait and see if the insurance company totaled the truck with the new $8800 estimate. If they didn't he was going to resubmit an estimate with the newfound bed damage, and then we would be going from there again....*sigh* This is old.
I am meeting the insurance guy about the motorcycles today after work. Hurrah.....

Bleh
Well, the truck has an estimated $8000 worth of damage. Looks like they are going to fix it. The insurance company asked me to stop by the body shop today to make sure I understand what they are doing to the truck, and wheter or not I agree with the way it's being done. So that'll be interesting. About $4000 damage to Christina's bike, adn about $3000 damage to my bike. This of course is the damage to every little piece of the bikes, wheter caused by this accident or not. It's apparently how they normally do things. I get to meet with the insurance guy at the bike shop tomorrow. Hurray Fun!
On the bright side, 4 day week this week, and a very special weekend comming up. ;)

No news is good news?
Haven't heard on the truck yet. I was hoping to hear yesterday, but nothing. Got the bikes int eh shop last night. The guy agreed there could be possible frame and fork damage. But he has high hopes, since you can't really "physically" see it.

News
I got to ride our motorcycles yesterday. The truck is getting moved to a body shop today for estimates. The bikes needed to be taken out of the bed of the truck, only I was waiting for permission from the other guys insurance company. Both bikes did sustain body damage, as for fork and frame damage, I still don't know. Her shifter was broken off, so I had to ride it home while using my hand to shift. The bike shop I usually go to isn't open on mondays, so I will call them today and see if they do estimates on damages. The auto appraiser for my insurance company doesn't give too much hope for the truck. He says it's on the birnk of being totaled. There are two things he needs to look at, if either one of those are damaged, then he says it's totaled. The odds aren't very good.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who don't know, Deals Gap is located right on the North Carolina Tennessee border. It's a very curvy road with 318 turnes in 11 miles. It is like a mecca for many motorcyclists, as well as sports car fans. The girlfriend and I went with 3 other couples and rented a cabin there for about a week... getting back today...
We had a great time on the Deals Gap trip. One minor incident which shall remained untold. But it was alot of fun with good friends. I have a shitload more picture which I will get up someday, hopefully soon. Oh, and you can kinda see what I did to the bike before we left too.
(The large images are 1024x768)

But then, God decided to give Christina and I a surprise ending......

Some s**t tard pulled out behind a bus and never looked for oncomming traffic. We broadsided him about 20 minutes from home. F**ked up both front fenders on both bikes. When the accident first happened I sat in the truck for a good 10 minutes jsut screaming and cussing. He had come over to see if we were OK, he heard me screaming (but not at him directly, though i wanted too) and he walked back to his car and waitned there until the cops came. The irony is, this happened the the territory of my old fire department. So I knew most of the personnel out there. I finally got out of the truck, and took one look at the fender on the bike and saw it was smashed. I started screaming at him from across the road. Christina saw the bikes, and her face turned red. I started to head across the street because I WAS going to now beat his a*s. Elias, one of the firefighters, grabbed Christina and I both and said "Go to the front of the truck! Go to the front! You don't want to do this!" But I did....
We're OK, Pretty sure the truck is totalled. The bikes need new front fenders from all that I can see. There are some scratches on the lower fairings from the bike ramps. The bikes need to be taken to a shop and checked out to see if the front forks are bent and if the frames are tweaked. I am royally and utterly p**sed off right now, you have no idea.
Right now my truck with both bikes in the back of it are sitting in a locked in fence area on the edge of town....
