Suburban Lifestyle

I snapped this yesterday as one of the pics I need for taking appraisals. If I ever buy a house in a subdivision, I want to look down the street and see this!

Rain Rain Go Away

Tuesday we had scattered showeres. Quite literally too. These rain clouds were about 200 feet around, and scatered a couple hundered yards apart. Driving down the interstate it would be: rain, couldy, rain, cloudy, sunny, rain, sunny...and that was all withing a mile. I just decided to snap this pic while driving. You can see the rain pouring down in the upcomming cloud. Unfortunately, my exdit was right before that, and so was the house I was appraising. I ended up outside in that rain.

Amityville

So I had taken a couple of pictures of various things yesterday and emailed them to my work address, but they apparently never made it here. So they'll be for another time.

We watched the original Amityville Horror last night. Completely different than the remake. I liked part sof them both, and disliked parts of them both. I can attest to say, watch them both.

Weather sucks

Talk about a crappy weekend, weatherwise. It was the first weekend that I can remember where I didn't need to get up saturday morning and do an appraisal. But the weather was so shotty, you really didn't want to go outside. Saturday it was blowing something fierce and all of about 36 degrees. Saturday night, I drove home from Portage in a blizzard! 40 MPH all the way! Not fun. And this is after a week ago, where we rode our bikes to Bubbles for some ice cream!

Crappy

I really hate the weather here. We had almost an enire week of awsome weather. Then yesterday it was 70 when I left for work, and when I left work, it was 42! At one point in time, it was 40 here at work, and back where I live. about 30 miles away, it was stil on the mid 70's. I was really hoping it was going to stay that way, turnes out it didn't. It's supposed to stay this way for about the next week. :(

Loser

I need more money. I don't make enough, and spend it too fast. Funny thing is, right now I make more money at job #2 than at job #1. But all job #2 paycheck goes to the creddit card. Which is good. And then I spend part of it, which is bad. I suck at money.

Wow, long weekend

What used the time of an average weekend, it sure seemed like a nice long one. I got a whole lot done, and still had time to work, play, and be lazy. To summarize: The Amityville Horror is a great movie, although I have not seen the original to compare it too. Don't buy Sony theater systems, they are never as good as you expect them to be. Of course I remembered this AFTER I bought my second one. Although still happy. Cleaned up the garage and made some extra room in it this weekend, lots of parts from the car are now in the basement. Anyone have an air compressor they want to get rid of? I found out my freebie leaks. The VW no longer has passanger side fender or hood on it anymore. My cousin turned 21, we celebrate. I for some reason woke up at 7:30AM sunday morning on the couch. Problem is, I specifically remember getting in my own bed at about 3:15 AM. Still can't figure that one out. Motorcycles and ice cream rule. Lazy sunday afternoons and evenings rule too. So do Northside's wings!

Boring

People with boring lives should not have blogs.
Hence the no new posts in a few days.
All I've done this week is work, school, and more work.
Oh, and I cleaned the fishtanks last night.

Tomorrow will be interesting though. I have an appraisal in the morning, then I get to go to Sears and pick out my new theater system, curtousey of Sears Master Protection Plan (my last one broke and the repair is more than or costs as much as the unit itself is worth). Them go to Menards and buy stuff for building a sand blasting cabnet. Then go home and work on the VW. And then go out at midnight, because that's when my cousin turns 21.

Spam

So a few weeks ago, I got all these noticed from Hotmail that they have stepped up there junk mail and spam services to catch even more junk mail and spam mail. Well before this happened, I thought everythign was working just fine! I got almsot no junk/spam in my inbox, it all went straight to my junk mailbox. And almost none of my regular mail went to the junk mailbox. But ever since they "stepped" these systems up, on a daily basis, I have more junk/spam going into my inbox than my junk box!! Stupid people! Why can't you leave a good thing alone! You know you're gonna make it worse!

Cleveland

On saturday, my friend Matt joined me on my journey to Clevland OH, where we saw many a interesting thing on our trip. Like in the northeast corner if Indiana, along the toll road, they have laser fence systems to alert motorists of animals (mostly deer) on the roads. I found out later that night that those cost 3.5 million to put in, and they don't even work! We also discovered that in OH, the tolls cost more, but they actually use their toll money for the toll road systems!! Unlike Indiana and Illinois, where the toll road money goes to line the politicans pockets. The toll plazas, rest stops, and toll roads themselves in Ohio are extremely nice. I mean really nice!

When we got to our destinateion, Josh hasd layed ALL the parts he was giving me on a tarp. He marked anything with tape that he saw as questionable. I don't think he could have been more thurough if he tried. He even had every receipt he could get ahold of for every thing or work that was done to that motor. Very nice guy, very trustworthy. I left with more than I anticipated getting. I bought a motor, but ended up getting enough parts to almost complete an engine compartment ina whole nother car!! I made out like a bandit. I even told him if he wanted to keeop some stuff and sell it seperately, to do so, because I was prolly gonna jsut turn around and sell a buch of it. He said nope, get it outta here. I'm not complaining, I'm a cheapass.

Total trip time, 12.5 hours. Total time in the truck, 10 hours. Total milage, 662.4. Total amount spent in gas: $107.97. Total for engine buy, $1107.97. And worth every penny!

Bumpage

I know you are all probably tired of hearing about the truck by now. But I don't care. Don't worry, this is it for awhile that I know of. Last night I installed some bumpage. 2 Alphasonik PSW110 10" subwoofers, and a SPL XL2-400 400 watt amp. Speakers are running at 2 OHMS, as the amp is 2 OHM stable. Although I didn't bridge it. It might be a plan in the near future.

Explination of pictures:

1-3: I didn't know the truck was actually going to fit into the garage. It was cold and windy, and I didn't feel like working outside. I did, however, have to pull in the door mirrors to fit through the garage door. (it was not fun getting back out)
4: The floor under the seats was not flat, so I decided to mount the amp to the bottom of the drivers seat.
5: The speakerbox in it's current location with the seat up
6: Almost a perfect fit, it sticks out a little, which is OK. I'd rather it be completely flush though. But for $60, I'm not complaining.
7: The front seats back in place. You can see where the wires come in from under the carpet. There is enough wire there to move the seat forwards and back without ripping them out of the amp, and short enough that they don't come out from under the seat.

The only problem with mounting the amp under the seat is that if i want to change a setting on the amp, I have to completely unbolt the entire bench assembly, flip the seats back, and unmount the amp. I tried to tune the system as best I could before I mounted it.

The system sounds pretty good overall! The rest of the systrem is stock, save for the rear speakers which were replaced with Sony Xplod's before I bought the truck. The front doors are stock 6x9's and the a-pillar tweeters are stock as far as I know. Stock head unit too. I really have no ambition to upgrade the rest because 1) it takes more money and 2) it really sounds good as it is.

The Sticker on the back of my truck

I took this picture specifically for Jessa, but decided I could share it all with you too.
It's Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, he's on the back window of the truck, and I got him while I was in Disney World. It actually was the only thing I saw that was worth paying the overpriced price for.

Good Clean Turck

Now THIS is what a clean truck should look like! Look at that sparkle!!

I took the day off of work yesterday, and spend the majority of it detailing the putside of the truck. I gave it a much needed waxing with Mequiars 3 step waxing system. That took about 3 hours. Then I cleaned the windows, and Black-Magic'd the tires, tonneau, and trim. The truck looks sweet. It looks even better now. Later that evening I went over to a friends house, and he tinted the windows for me. NICE!
